Maps, maps, and more maps...


The students were put in groups of 4-5 a few weeks ago.  They were asked to make a map.
They had complete creative freedom to make whatever kind of map they wanted.
One group was focused on making sporting facilities, like the Palace.  Another group
made houses for each group member and added trees and parks to their map.


First, the maps were used to learn about perimeter, the distance around an object.



Next, the maps were used to learn about area, the amount of space inside an object.



Then, the maps were used to learn about moving on a grid.

Finally, the maps were sent home.
