Money, Money, Money!

Money, Money, Money!

The students were so excited to be learning about money!
Many students came to grade 2 with a lot of money knowledge and so this
week's math centers needed to address learners at all stages of
learning about money.

Some students were working on skip counting by 5's, and 10's
and only worked with dimes and nickels.
Others were ready to dive into 5, 10, 20, and 50 dollar bills!!

It was so exciting to see so much going on the in the classroom today!

Center #1: Make Money
Pick a card, use coins to show the amount written on the card

Center #2: Coin War
Each person reveals one coin.
Whoever has the highest valued coin wins the round but has to add the two coins together.

Center #3: Dollar Dice
Roll the dice, refer to the chart to see how much money you win, mark it on a 100 chart.
Take turns rolling the dice with a partner.
The first person to get to 100 cents is the winner.

(We didn't use the penny - rolling a one was just 'roll again')

Challenge Center: For anyone who completed the other activites
easily and was ready to be challenged.

Way to go everyone!
