Welcome!

Welcome to Grade 2

Your children are settling right into life in grade 2.  They have been working hard to make new friends and learn the routines of their new classroom.  This blog will give you a peek into what we do all day at school.  Thank you all so much for sending your children with school supplies, indoor shoes, and healthy snacks and lunches!!
The focus all week has been on creating a classroom where your children feel comfortable, safe, and loved.  One of the stories we read is called Calvin Can't Fly.  The message of the story is
that sometimes you will be able to help those around you and other times you will need help from those around you.  There are moments in life where we will all need a little bit of help.

Click on the link below to hear the story at home.

We wrote about it...

...and crafted about it!

Sometimes we all need a little bit of help!

The Kind Kids Club
On the first day of school a package was delivered from the kind kids club.  Inside was a mission to think of how they can be kind in our classroom.
The children worked in groups to write down their ideas.

They all 'signed' their names and decided to commit to being kind all year.  They will be given extra special missions throughout the year, but their biggest mission is be kind in our classroom each day.
