As part of our measurement unit, students practiced using a ruler (cm ruler and m stick)
to measure the distance traveled by a toy car. They used some Hot Wheels tracks
and went to work!
Another way to practice their ruler skills (using a 30 cm ruler)...
One person laid on the chart paper and the others traced their silhouette.
Then they went to work measuring how long each arm was and how thick their wrist or ankle was.
It was great practice using the ruler, remembering to start measuring at zero and holding the ruler steady.
